Why we built this — and why a generic vendor never will.
I've spent many years close to youth sports development — watching the same gap show up in club after club, academy after academy: families paying thousands per season and getting game schedules in return. Coaches know the players are growing. They just have no scalable way to make that growth visible.
Vimasu is what happens when you take the way coaches already think about players — sport by sport, framework by framework — and turn every session into something families can actually see. Then clubs asked us to run the rest — scheduling, payments, registration, chat — so that record would stop living in a sixth disconnected app, and Vimasu became the system the whole club runs on. We started in soccer, but the same engine now runs for hockey, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, wrestling, swimming — 27 sports and counting. Each one in its own coaching language, not a soccer template with the words swapped. If you take development seriously, in any sport, you should be using it.

Does this replace TeamSnap or our existing club software?
Yes — that’s the point. Scheduling, RSVPs, roster & family CRM, payments, game recaps, chat, registration and waivers all live in Vimasu, so clubs cancel the patchwork one tool at a time (10 categories live today, 8 more in beta). To make switching painless we import from TeamSnap, so coaches never enter data twice during the move. What about COPPA and family data privacy?
Player photos are opt-in, never used for ML training, never shared cross-organization, never used in marketing without explicit per-parent consent. Hard-coded into the upload pipeline and database row-level security. We treat it like medical data.
What if our program uses a different development framework?
Custom rubrics are first-class. Every sport ships with a sport-specific default you can use as-is or fork — or define your own dimensions, weights, and rating scale entirely. The AI drafting adapts to whatever framework you set, so the reports always sound like your program in your sport.
